About

di•et tired: (adjective)

Origin: The Healthy Weights Clinic

1. term used to describe an emotional state suffered by dieters
2. a cluster of emotions;  despair, frustration and self-doubt

"Eat less and exercise more - it should be so simple".

But weight loss is anything but simple. Much like treating depression involves more than simply 'cheering up', weight loss involves far more than eating less and exercising more.

Indeed, in its simplest form losing weight does mean eating better and being more active. Working hard to make exercise and healthy eating a part of everyday life makes rational sense, dieting however, is anything but rational. But we are desperate and dieting is what we know, so it is what we do.

There is a better way.

The diet approach impairs your ability to eat better and be more active and intensifies the troubled eating patterns and emotions that caused weight gain in the first place.

The diet-binge cycle shatters motivations and destroys your self-esteem.  Feelings of despair, disgust and shame often follow.

Weight loss takes work,  but it shouldn't take guess work.TM

Diet Tired is about accurate, scientifically sound weight loss advice. The focus is not only about what to do, but how to do it - consistently.

Diet Tired is dedicated to the thousands who have opened their hearts and shared their personal and often private diet, weight and body image struggles with me at the Healthy Weights Clinic.
